About
Eda Kirişçioğlu
Postdoctoral Researcher, Political Science · University of Amsterdam
I am a postdoctoral researcher in the Department of Political Science and in the Conflict & Society Research Priority Area at the University of Amsterdam. I hold a joint PhD in Political Science from the University of Amsterdam and Koç University and have extensive research experience in Turkey and the broader EU context.
My research focuses on forced displacement, migration governance, and government responses to mobility. A central strand of my work examines migration aspirations, decision-making under uncertainty among migrant populations and displacement policies. Methodologically, I work with mixed methods, combining qualitative fieldwork with survey research, experiments, and cross-national data analysis.
My research has been published in outlets such as the Journal of Refugee Studies, Journal of Ethnic and Migration Studies, Journal of Immigrant & Refugee Studies, Disasters, and Open Democracy.
I also teach and supervise in the areas of international migration, conflict and displacement, and research methods at the BA and MA levels, including thesis supervision in programmes on conflict resolution and international politics.
I hope this website helps you get to know my work better. If you are interested in these topics, please feel welcome to get in touch.
